Anglesey Sandman Triathlon

The Sandman Trail Triathlon is on Sunday 16th September 2012, it is the second in the series that starts with the classic Snowdonia Slateman which will be on the 20th May 2012.

The Sandman race venue will be Newborough Forest, the start and finish set in an exclusive area within the 700 ha woods adjacent to Llanddwyn Beach. In an area of outstanding natural beauty, the surrounding scenery along the race route is stunning, this event offers a challenge for everyone regardless of fitness and experience.

The Anglesey Sandman will comprise of two distances the Full Sandman or Sandman Sprint.  You will also be able to compete as a relay team in both distances. 

The two courses are as follows:

Full Sandman (£54 individual or £79 team relay, plus a small card fee which is outside our control)

• 1000m Sea Swim off Llanddwyn beach
• 60 km Road Cycle circular route taking riders via Llanfairpwllgwyngyll and back along the west coast of Anglesey
• 10 km Trail Run along Llanddwyn forest trails, sand dunes and beach

Sandman Sprint (£49 individual or £69 team relay, plus a small card fee which is outside our control)

• 400m Sea Swim off Llanddwyn beach
• 18 km Road Cycle heading out towards Llanfairpwll and back through Llangaffo
• 5 km Trail Run again along Llanddwyn Forest trails, sand dunes and beach

At the Sandman we will also be welcoming triathletes competing in the Seddon corporate event.

Always Aim Tri Series 2012

At the Snowman Triathlon we will crown the overall individual Always Aim Tri Series male and female champions (fastest accumulated time at Slateman long course, Sandman long course and Snowman tri). Our swim partners Aquasphere have kindly sponsored an amazing £750 worth of kit for both the champion man and woman. In addition, all triathletes who complete the three event series will be awarded a unique Always Aim Tri Series memento.
